The Adventures of April

We shall not cease from exploration - And the end of all our exploring - Will be to arrive where we started - And know the place for the first time. -- T.S. Eliot

Gratefulness

"How happy a person is depends on the depth of his gratefulness."
John Miller
The past few months have taught me that I have so much to be grateful for. Many of you whom I keep in touch with regularly know that despite the relative stability of my current situation my life as of late has been chock-full of adventures, with some falling in the "good" category, others in the "bad" and most falling in both depending on the moment!

I've been struck by how God has provided through the Church and my friends and family. Here is a much abbreviated list of the many things I have to be thankful for:

  • Safety whistles, safety whistles, and neighbors who respond to safety whistles
  • Parents who drive eight hours to pick you up at the airport
  • Friends who send you a replacement copy of "Hello Dolly" after yours is stolen from your apartment
  • People who write me long emails, and people who read my long emails
  • Friends that help me move at the last minute - twice in ten days
  • Friends that help me paint my room which has approximately 82 awkward corners
  • Finding an AWESOME house in Midtown two days into my impromtu housing search
  • Cooler weather
  • A co-worker who lets me live at her house for two weeks
  • Friends who let me lay on their futon and watch "What About Bob" on a Monday afternoon
  • A friend's roommate whom I just met made me a bunch of awesome CDs (since my computer/music was stolen)
  • Chocolate
  • Safety
  • Delicious French press coffee
  • The library and books books books
  • Gmail chat
  • ****My small group and community at Trinity****
  • A gift of tickets to see the Indigo Girls at Chastain
  • Popeye's friend chicken and biscuits
  • Running
  • Turmeric chapstick!
  • Sisters who listen
  • Mix CDs from friends
  • Health Day for the Homeless
  • Oktoberfest party and a hooligan costume...
